“This could be the most important and most exciting Bathroom Conference yet” says Steve Lee, President of the BMA and Chairman of the Bristan Group. “Our staff at the BMA have put together a stunning line up of speakers for the conference and we are expecting the usual sell out for this, the most important event in the bathrooms business calendar.”
This year the Annual Bathroom Conference is being held in Cheshire at the Carden Park Hotel on 20th October 2009 and includes a day-long programme of presentations, a business exhibition, the gala dinner and the newly created BMA Awards.
The line up of seven high-profile speakers includes iconic designer Wayne Hemingway MBE who will explore the world of sustainable bathroom design and Richard Hytner, Deputy Chairman of Satchi and Satchi Worldwide who look at “Lovemarks” and the future beyond brands.
Discussing the bathroom business will be Stuart Cross, founder of Morgan Cross Consulting. He will lead a provocative and high energy session on building a strategy of innovation and growth, and Neil Ashbridge from the Bank of England will assess our current economic climate and what the future may hold.
Bathroom design is always an important conference subject and two top interior designers will be giving their views. Alison Wright, currently working on easy living homes projects, will explain the opportunities in social housing and disabled markets. And Sally Storey will share her passion for manipulating bathroom space with clever lighting design.
Sustainability and water efficiency are the red hot topics in our industry and Kathryn Rathouse, an expert in this field, will enlighten delegates on consumers’ aspirations and expectations on water efficiency and bathroom products.
“We are extremely pleased with this year’s conference programme,” commented Yvonne Orgill, chief executive of the BMA. “The conference theme, The Home - Looking Forward - Forward Looking, is designed to stimulate and motivate delegates. We will look at the very latest in innovation, legislation and education in our industry. This is the SMILE conference of 2009 and we know that it will be a breath of fresh air during the continuing rather gloomy economic climate. It really is the chance for anyone in the industry, whether in manufacturing merchanting, distributing, contracting or retail to get to grips with what the future of bathrooms is really all about.”
